Description

When Backstrom is back, the Caps can trade the tail end of Hagelin's front loaded contract to clear enough cap space.

Could also trade Hagelin to the Hawks, and trade Eller when Backstrom comes back.

It's a two year rental, and then he probably signs back in Chicago. It's not getting more value than nine years of Jones, even if they have the same stat line.

Well, it's not more value. Picks # 30, #31, and #32 are not more value than pick #12 and Pick #3. AND WAS is getting more than a 1 year deal. It's 2 years and $5.25M retained.

hawks get more value than the trade above easily, especially with how late those picks will be

At the time of the trade, Boqvist already looked like a bust. The trade was supposed to be a #12 plus hopefully a #31.

And it was for nine years of an apparent #1 defenseman.
