Lately, I really like Severson.
I’m not sure why that is, but I doubt he’d be available anyways.

Hawks are not a good team but for half that game, first period especially, it was like they were playing an AHL team...brutal by the Leafs. What the heck is going on with the team? Holl looks terrible, Marner whiffing on shots, like some of the team is skating in glue.

Hawks don't look much better, more like a bunch of kids flying around the ice in chaos but clearly we were playing faster which is crazy as the leafs have traditionally been a very fast team.

That was thank fukc victory. Another slow start, PP had some life but still can’t covert. Holl Muzzin pair is terrible. A little worried Sandin might not evolve into a #1.
Positives: best game for Marner, Nylander is a beast, seeing Matthews pissed off, Kampf (the 3rd line really was awesome), Campbell saved them.
Need to be way better but a win is a win. Which they needed in the worst way. Hope this gets something rolling but still a lot of issues to figure out.

Yeah before this season the Leafs were quite a fast skating team but over the last 3 years the Leafs have lost speed.

The sad part of losing said speed is the team has not gotten heavier and grittier. If the trade-off was there I think generally people would be okay with it but clearly that's not the case.

I agree, not the prettiest win we will ever see. But I will happily take a garbage win and pray that it wakes some guys up in the process.

Holl looks incredibly slow, Muzz looks like he's battling something. Might be time to temporarily split them up so we don't have two anchors playing at the same time.

Was there actually an expectation that Sandin would become a #1 D? That's a lot to expect, he was drafted 29th overall. I'd be excited if he becomes a top 4 D personally.

Not a reasonable or well thought out expectation. He looked really good for 10 games, and people overhyped him so much. If he can develop into a top 4 dman who plays around 20 minutes a night and runs PP1 I will be thrilled.
