Carolina in on Jack eichel

Created by: BigDog91
Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 28, 2021
Published: Oct. 28, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think the additions improves the young core. Best players are all around the same age and can grow together. With top picks coming in next couple years Sabre’s could be force in the east. If they are able to get top center in next two drafts will be able to trade one of Thompson, cozens or mittlestadt for futures or for position of need.

The future would be bright with Quinn and peterka looking amazing in AHL. And then sammulsen and power on D fence.

Only glaring need is a long term goalie. Couple young prospects but they will need to sign a UFA next year that can play 50 games at a competitive level.

I believe Schneider and Johnson are a wash. Just swap LHD and RHD. Can retain half salary if needed

Yeah Johnson is definitely better prospect. But we need RHD more. They both played worlds together on same team and he had more points. He is playing at almost point a game in college. So to think Schneider is that much better you really need to stop over valuing your players.

Same tournament. Not team. But the points made are still valid.

Only to the point of how well you know prospects.

Canes aren't trading Trocheck and Jarvis for a player who is not even guaranteed to even play hockey again. Trocheck will get an extension with Carolina, and Jarvis will get some playing time this year. While Eichel, if he is completely healthy and has no side effects from his injury, were to come to Carolina, he would be a beast as a 2C. Except, it will never happen as a trade like that will not happen, but the cap space also does not work. Canes can't afford to have a $10 mil contract right now.

6-0-0 Canes who are on fire trade a top 6 center and future assets for someone who probably won’t play this season. Makes a ton of sense.

Knowing that Eichel will be out until the playoffs, Canes wouldn’t trade Trocheck as a part of the deal. Probably just trade futures.
