I like the Eakin add because the Flames are going to have to lose a roster player but I don't think Buffalo would be adding a C, if there was a 3 way deal in place with a low paid C coming to Calgary maybe. This also wouldn't work regarding the cap for when Eichel is better, the team would have to be able to fit him within the cap before moving him to LTIR

Just guesswork here, but I feel like there's no way the Sabres are above the Cap Floor after this, right?

They would currently be at $25,813,320 in space without Eichel's contract but then factoring in Dube's 2.3M hit they would be fine.

On the Calgary side though, I think I heard from one of the SportsNet guys that the Flames would need to have the cap room to acquire Eichel's money before being able to put him on LTIR. Strong chance I am wrong but just what I recall.
