Stone skated last week. But for the trade for Eichel to go through cap-wise Stone had to be on LTIR meaning he'll be out probably another 5 weeks. Karlsson is out another 5-6 weeks and Pacioretty another 4-6 weeks.

Yep, for Vegas it's either finish dead last in the league or make the playoffs. Any pick between 11 and 16 and this season would be a complete failure.

They can totally do it but it isn't easy playing catch up in the last two months of the season. As it stands, this team is terrible. They're going to be gassed come playoff time especially after the olympics. I think Vegas is more of a "next year" team now.

They can be a next year team as long as their pick is top 10. If they aren't bad enough, they have to try to compete for the playoffs.

They're not bad enough for top 10. They will make the playoffs on one leg and drop in the quarters.
