Getting creative WPG DET and FA's

Description
Ken Holland salivates at getting a true top pair RHD under contract for 4 more years especially one that hits. I know larkin is supposed to be untouchable but in theory is the return there accurate? Deal is predicated on Trouba signing a long term extension in which Chevy says, you sign here we'll give you Buff money and put you top pairing. Also that 3rd line of Connor, Larkin, and Roslovic could be a team USA line in the future especially if they develop some good chemistry as well as having Trouba who will also most likely be a team USA staple in the future.

Lol sorry weren't dealing a 20 year old Larkin plus a 1st for a 31 year old Byfuglien whom is making $7.6 million per for 4 more years after this. If we're dealing Larkin it would be too bring Trouba home to Detroit nothing else. Detroit is heading towards a rebuild here and weren't trading a young core player in Larkin for an aging 31 year old D man in Byfuglien.

I'll second that Number 33 will be wanted by teams who are missing that big shot and physical presence required to bring them over the edge It can go two ways he is moved for an improved 2 way defenseman of the same calibre like a doughty( Since I don't see la ever going that route) it will be to a similar team that can package a great defense first defenseman and an up an coming d offensive defenseman or another dependable defenseman Teams that will get him can shelter buff defensively thus his game will be more then an asset then a hindrance Think San Jose or Anaheim perhaps Philly In the end the Jets are going to want a shutdown presence to play with Meyers Another veteran will be brought in to make up for the leadership with Ladd and buff gone

There is no reason for Detroit to make that move....

1st trade: No from WPG, but isles say yes.
2nd trade: Really high pick and young forward with lots of potential for ... a guy who mostly just hits. DET says NO!

If the Jets wanted to move on from Buff (I'm not saying they do) and the Wings wanted him......Green for Buff might be fair. About the same money next year, and then the Jets would have 3 years , Buff free and 7.6m to spend elsewhere. Might not seem like a fair hockey deal at first, but in summer of 2018, 7.6m gets you a better player(s) than Buff.
