I might add a 3rd or 4th round pick along with Detroit's package, Fabbri is a serviceable/fringe top six forward who is just a rental because he is walked right to UFA status next off-season, while Girard is already a well-established puck moving defenseman on a very good contract and he is signed for five more years after this season

i agree but the only reason i didnt was beacuse the avs lost some depf in the offseason and now with mackinnon out they are really lacking depf on the foward end of things. so getting fabbri not only can he play wing, he can play first line center while mackinnon is out. and when mackinnon is back fabbri can be a second line wing for the avs. and for girards sake, he ussually playes LD but the top 4 LD spots are being taken up by byrom and toews so girard is playing RD behind makar. and he is not playing good this season at all. and on the redwings roster, their just missing out on that first D pairing defencman to complete their top 4. and girard would be the perfect fit for that role. and the wings have the depf to make up for the loss of fabbri. it works out for both sides which is why I dont think the wings need to add a 3rd or a fourth.

Hard no from Avalanche... The value in these Girard trades aren't even on the same planet as how the Avalanche view Girard on his contract and term...
