Maatta isn't worth that. MAYBE JVR straight up, but you aren't getting any extra pick, if anything, PIT will need to throw in some picks. Maatta is a 2nd pairing dman that is often hurt. JVR is a 30 goal scoring Olympian top line winger.

agreed, and I never agree with you. JVR has more value then maatta and leafs are looking for a RHD

Yeah JVR is worth more than Maatta. Maatta wouldn't be the upgrade on defense that toronto would be loking for. Getting Shattenkirk is all well and good but if you resign Schultz do you need him? Both are right handed primarily offensive minded defenseman so they shouldn't play together and youre not gonna bury one on the 3rd pairing. Even if you get Shattenkirk as Letang injury insurance thats expensive insurance.
