I don’t think the Pens would be interested in D.Samorukov.

Pens have a log jam already at LHD; with their top prospect, PO-Joseph, nhl ready, 22 years old, and fighting to get PT at LHD. Plus Cam Lee, who’s is playing in the AHL, 24 years old, and from every report can atleast be a 3rd pairing, NHL, LHD right now. Unless they moved one or two of Dumoulin/ Pettersson/Matheson too.

I think they would ask for Berglund instead if this was the offer.

That’s easy enough. Samorukov might be the better prospect.

Teams who needs a big rugged defenseman St Louis both New York teams. He was Montreal's best defenseman in the playoffs.

I don’t see us giving up more than that when we already have our D core. Don’t really need more rugged D men. TOR is a team that needs that

Not interested in turris. Kemp on the other hand is a solid defensive dman with leadership abilities. He’s only 22 and shoots right which is an area of need for mtl.

I would counter, remove turris. Upgrade to a 1st. Or kemp with two 2nds.

Ya, I’m not even saying it’s not good value. Or knocking Samorukov/Samorukov’s game.

Being a Pens fan and reading most everything out there about the team and prospects, I just don’t see how they would bring in another LHD close to the NHL(again, without moving another LHD somewhere else).

I’m not even saying Cam Lee is a great prospect. But everything u read says the organization/coaches like him and think/believe he’s an NHL D-man, was a standout in camp/preseason this year. And close or NHL ready. But there is just a lot of depth already at LHD.

And they obviously like and plan on PO-Joseph being a part of the team/organization. I can’t see them bringing in another LHD and taking their spot. I’m sure they are telling them the same things that they put out in quotes that I am reading too.

I could see them trading one of PO-Jospeh or Cam Lee. Then f*ck it. You can say you are giving them a better opportunity with another organization or whatever; u don’t really have to tell them anything.

But a good organization doenst do that to their prospects(Jordan Love; Aaron Rodgers). I can’t see them bring in another LHD, when they the rave about those two already and would like to give them NHL PT right now.

I meant Samorukov is better than Berglund.

I don't think the Pens would be allowed to retain on Carter because LA already retained 50%.

They can. Remember last year David Savard trade. TB got another team to take another 50% RS. Only twice though.

chairot retained for a 2nd is a good start, but turris is a cap dump, kemp is a defennsive d-man that we have plenty of so no real interest there

maybe add benson and lagesson , and a second for Chairot 50% retained

That’s 2 second round picks and a depth D for a rental. I know the Oilers need a D like Chiarot pretty bad imo but that’s a huge price tag. Benson has been developing within the system for a while and he’s starting to get regular minutes on the 4th line do they’ll likely keep him.
Maybe they should offer Kris Russell, Lavoie and a 2nd or 3rd instead. KR can be easily flipped for another pick at the TDL. Not sure what the Habs need besides a resurrected Carey Price to change their fortunes. They have loads of picks and prospects depth so what else do they need??

they need a full rebuild in my eyes but barring that, lavoie + lagesson + second for chairot 50% retained? I think lavoie needs to fix his defensive issues and consistency to make the nhl so thast a project nut i do like him (he is a rw and we have a lot there lw would be preferable but i like the guy) , lagesson would be and AHL caliber d-man right now with posibility of being a decent a 3rd pair in the future, no PP or PK. I think keeping Russel and his ability to block shots and move the puck as your depth d-man is the best option to help win a cup in edmonton for the blue line.

If Edmonton wins the cup or finishes anywhere near where they are now that second is real real late so i beleive the ask is fair value with substitution benson for lavoie , when I said Benson it was his potential and LW and i though he sloted behind perlini on the 4th line and made him available

I think they are back and forth on their bottom six. He’s finally getting minutes though. Maybe Benson, Lagesson and that 2nd would be great at 50% RS. Sure I’ll give in. Especially considering that Holloway is well on his way to bring a sure fire NHL player— after his injury.
