Well, it's really not an expansion mess. Every team is going to lose one player, admitting the Ducks might lose one of the better players. That's what happens when you "too many" good players.
It like my friends complaining they have to pay $ 30,000 in income taxes. OK then don't make $ 200,000. Would you happier making $ 60,000 and paying $ 10,000 in taxes?

Not saying that I wouldn't do this, because I really like Dal Colle, but it doesn't really free you up from the expansion draft "mess". You're still losing a top 4 d-man.

What? Buy out Bieksa, trade Vatanen for a forward. Protect: Getzlaf, Perry, Kesler, Rakell, Silf, Cogs, New forward, Lindholm, Fowler, Manson, and Gibson.

We'd likely lose Vermette or Despres. It's not hard guys.

Exactly. We could possibly lose Logan shaw instead but I would put money on us losing Vermette if we trade vatanen

Not unless Bieksa waives you're not.

Getz, Perry, Rakell, Kes-Lindholm, Vatanen, Fowler, Manson-Gib.

"It's not that hard guys"

Except for it is. Seems easy but it's not. Trading Vatanen for a forward would mean that the other team trading would have to be the perfect fit at the perfect time. Everyone has the same problems so they're not going to do you any favors. My solution is to swap out Silverberg for an exempt forward with a team that has not too many good players. I guess you could do the same thing with Vatanen but it's going to be a lot harder trading position for position rather than doing lateral trades - which in this case, is needed.

it's all about not going into the next bracket. They can complain because they should have made $199,999.99 and then paid a lower pecentage

i think the point is fowler is worth more than vatanen right now, but isn't as good. trade him now and keep sami on his good contract and get another forward for fowler.. buying out beiksa is only a formality because he siad in the case that he doesnt waive it

Nate: That isn't how taxes work.....Let's say under 30,000 no taxes. 30,000 to 100,000 10%, 100,000 to 199,999 20%, 200,000 and up 30%. If you make 210,000 you don't pay 30% on the whole 210,000, but only only on 10,000. This higher tax bracket Is larger not true. As a capitalist and a socialist.....if there is such a thing, I don't mind being in the higher tax bracket for some of my money. Hate government spending waste though.
