The problem with the wild trade is there’s basically a 2nd and scraps for fiala. You need to give something of value for him. Nobody wants holl or keefoot. And abramov has no real value. The problem is that Toronto basically has little of value outside the core pieces, and none of them are up for trading.

Isn't cap compliant at all, for the Leafs when Mrzarek returns. Again a unpractical scenario trading two NHL Dmen for one. Leafs shouldn't be trading Kerfoot as at some point he might be needed at centre.

I would say as fans, they probably think that. And I am not saying this trade for Fiala is fair, but you are so WRONG in thinking Alex Kerfoot (who's value right now as never been higher) and Holl (who's value is lower right now than last year) would not get interest from other GM's.

True, everyone has value, but how does that blue stack up with the wild needs and wants? I just don’t see how either would be any kind of fit in the wilds makeup or design.

You’re gonna need to pile that heap of garbage a lot higher than that to get Fiala!! Quantity does NOT equal quality!

Yup, I would guess MIN would potentially rather get futures for Fiala considering how tight they will be against the cap for the next few seasons. But to my point, Kerfoot and Holl have value especially Kerfoot right now. His value has never been higher. And I am not even suggesting they should trade either

Value-wise, the Coyotes could get Matthews with their 100+ 2nd rounders. That doesn't mean the Leafs should do it, however, and that's what's wrong with the Fiala trade. There isn't anything the Wild would want to trade Fiala for.

I would expect the wild to try and swing a trade with the kings for one of their up and coming centers, namely turcotte or vilardi. Byfield being off the table. I could see if the kings are in the mix for the playoffs angling for a top 6 wing like fiala and one of those centers would make sense. Fits both teams needs. Short and long term.
