If a Flames fan hates it, I guess I’ve done a good job of countering my own bias.

LOL.
The problem is, MTL already has 5 or 6 Bo Horvat type players on their roster signed for above value and term. 40-55 points a year, even or a little below +/-, good leadership qualities, but no real wow factor (Gallagher, Anderson, Dvorak, Hoffman, etc) It all came together last year, but that was mostly because Price played out of his mind, and the young guys stepped up.

And MTL wouldn't take on Bo unless they were able to move one of those types of guys back. And they definitely won't pay a second and a first to get him.

Yeah fair. With how the year has gone, it really looks like they miss Danault though.

They couldn't give him that money though, cause of everything else they've done. As great as Price was last year in the playoffs, they're paying him for past performance not future value. Same with Gallagher. Suzuki looks like the real deal, but I think they gave him too much money too early. Many of the contract are probably at the right dollar value, but the term is the problem. Anderson shouldn't have gotten 7 years. Hoffman is a sign yearly based on performance guy. I dunno, there's just something missing with this team. It's just too many of the same type of player.

Montréal would be $5 million over the cap when Price gets back, and $8 million over when Byron gets back.
