But why would there be a condition on the 2023 playoff run if Kessel won't even be on the team in 2022-23? You should probably just drop that and make it upgrade if they win the Cup in 2022.

Either way, a cup win and Kessel signing an extension would be unlikely.

personally think kessel is a terrible add for NYR. over the past 3 years he has been terrible at both ends of the ice at 5v5. Additionally he would get no PP time since we are all booked up with strome kreider panarin zib and fox.

The condition should not be games played based. Kessel is an iron man. Playing the games is not an issue and the coach wont bench a veteran like him.

It makes more sense to have the condition production based. Thats what your getting him for and what you should protect your condition against.

Imagine Kessel meets the 1st rounder condition by playing 9 mins a night on the 4th line?
