Kane Makes Too Much Sense

Created by: Ryno122
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 29, 2021
Published: Nov. 29, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Team clearly lacks an offensive weapon on the left side with bite to their game. Dubas in recent memory has taken a chance on rehabbing “problem” players such as Ho-Sang and Galchenyuk. To get that missing piece at half cost is a gift to this team. To top it off, you add the 1 thing you’re missing up front while keeping all your high picks and prospects. Put him under Tavares’ wing.

Team is rolling, room is gelling. Dubas thinks to himself: may as well add some cancer to the locker room to see how that works out!

No thanks on either trade.

Galchenyuks issue was his on ice play. Kane makes absolutely zero sense for the Leafs. He is a lockerroom cancer and a horrible person. Playing hockey with someone doesn't change that. Leafs moved on from Bracco for similar reasons, they aren't bringing in someone as problematic as Kane

Also Ho Sangs issue was that he was unlucky enough to be drafted by the Isles. He's a great player with a great attitude.

Probably adding a perpetual malcontent to a team currently sharing first place overall isn't the best course of action.

Food for thought.

Don't get me wrong I like the idea but in practice it doesn't make sense, Kane outside of all the BS that follows him is a great player and would probably excel in Toronto but at the moment the team seems to be running smooth and the boys look like they're having fun for once, let them enjoy it before adding Kane to the Toronto media bonfire

You really can' compare Galenychuk,HoSang and Kane. Kane is near a four year commitment with his 3.5m cap hit. Gally, a half year commitment and heck Ho Sang was signed to a PTO and is still on an AHL contract.
Can't Leafs fans just "enjoy" the current state of the team. Four game road trip, four wins allowing five goals. And we see posts where a LWer is needed, and of course the lack NHL Dmen is the most common theme.

No, just no.

He is a locker room cancer and shouldn’t be added to any dressing room.

The Leafs are currently sharing 1st in the league. They are 13-2-0 is their last 15, and are the hottest team over that stretch. Not only have they shown they can play tight defensively and only win by a goal (like playoff hockey) but the offence is starting to pick up too.

They’re having fun out there, they’re winning.
Why mess with that by bringing in a “rehab” project?

Enjoy the moment for sure. Don't ever be content though. It is important to always to be looking to get better through trades if a smart one presents itself.

Evander Kane is not one of those trades. The last thing this team needs is a locker room distraction in the form of media chum stepping into the shark tank of Toronto.

Its probably the easiest NO WAY that I've delivered in a long time.

Absolute hard no from me!
