Yeah, Edvinsson or Johansson might be able to ease the pain if either of them are ready, the best-case scenario on the left side that I see (without free agents) is Edvinsson-Leddy-Staal, which is only a slight improvement. Though if we don’t get any rookies coming in and Leddy gets sold at the deadline, our LHD is annihilated next year.

I can see them bringing ddk back on like a 2 year cheap deal. Staal looks a bit gassed this year he might be done.

I did a post recently about which team has best LD pipeline

Detroit, New Jersey gotta be top two. Minnesota, Buffalo and Vegas pretty solid too.

Toronto will offer Dermott and a sweetener to rent Fabbri for remainder of the season. You can have him back next year if he still wants to be there. Maybe it will help bridge the gap until the young ones are ready :P

It would be much better for Detroit to try and do a deal with Pittsburgh for Marcus Petterson. With Leddy resigned (if possible) that'll stabilize the left side enough to ease the kids in at a good pace. Another option is to go after one of the UFAs during the offseason. Someone like Robert Hägg would work.
