We get trade raped in the Minnesota deal. If I'm reading it correctly : Simmonds for Pominville ; Hagg for Brodin ; 2nd Round pick for Rights to Kaprizov. Please explain your logic.

Kaprizov is awesome. Brodin is good. Pominville isn't nothing, But mostly it's about getting Kaprizov, possibly the next Tarasenko and Russian U20 teammate of Vorobyov and Rubstov.

Kaprizov isn't a throwin for the second, that's more Pominville.

Pominville was a buyout candidate last year. Would you do a trade of Hagg and Simmonds for Kaprizov and Brodin?

Yes but the Wild wouldn't I doubt. Taking Pominville is partly a cap dump, adding extra value to the trade.

Surly if we're receiving the cap dump we shouldn't be paying a 2nd for it.
I like your idea I dreamt of having Kaprizov on the flyers in Dec when he was playing in the U20, but like I say no need for us to give up a 2nd for Pominville. If that is the case I want a 1st back with it or swap out the 2nd for either 5th or 6th at best

Simmonds is probably the top untouchable on the team, not to say that he can't be trade for the right price. However, this price is not the price for Simmonds.

I love Simmonds but everyone says part of the Flyers problem in Giroux is getting old. Simmonds only 7 months younger, a power forward (who typically break down earlier) and his contact is amongst the best in the league. It's going to be hard, but not impossible, to re-sign him in a few years as it is.

Painful though it is, he could get a kings ransom from a team contending for the cup right now and get us some top prospects coming the other way. Of course teams that win now don't have a lot of prospect depth to poach, except the Wild who have a ton of forward prospects (via some damn fine drafting). The Wild have cap issues with old players with NMC's and long contracts while players like Granlund and Niederreiter are expiring RFA's. They also have so many players to protect in the Expansion they need to do something.

That's what I'm trying to exploit in these trades. However, saying Simmonds for Brodin and Kaprizov doesn't help them as they then have more forwards to protect and the same cap space concerns. To be honest maybe Simmonds for Brodin, Kaprizov, and Pominville as a 'cap dump' or at least bad contract, Pominville is still a decent player, he's just over paid for too long - something the Flyers could easily absorb.

Giroux isnt getting old lmao and neither is Simmonds. A cup consenting team would look for a different player than mortgaging their prospects and assets for a player like Simmonds. If a cup consenting team is legit, they will trade for players that enhance their backup units, like a 2pp or PK.
