Dutchies inspired this trade. Said Gally is a 3rd liner and I quote literally word for word: “Yeah, it's the perfect trade for MTL. It's garbage for DAL. You want a pick and a prospect and an expiring contract to dump a contract? First MTL should be paying the pick and prospect. “ so here is the deal, Habs need to give up very good assets in order to move this 30 goal scoring “3rd liner” Gallagher who is apparently a worthless cap dump at this point. 29 years old is the new 34.

Waahhhhh......you called my crush a 3rd liner.

Dude, stop being so petty. This is a forum to post, discuss and evaluate. Not act like a 3 year old throwing a tantrum.
Grow up.

There's no arguing with stupid. But you don't make a trade like you just posted. You make it bigger to make it work for both teams. But I guess your mind just can't work it's way around that.

And it's funny that you picked a team that had the cap space to make this trade work, cause it sure wouldn't work with Dallas.

Mic drop.........

Really? Dallas doesn’t have the cap space? Is this the same team that has Pavelski’s 7 mill coming off the books after this season and Radulov’s 6 mill coming off the book as well? With onlt Klingberg and a 3rd liner to resign? Klingberg probably gets 7-8 mill tops? That’s an increase of 3.5 mill… in what world do they not have enough cap space going forward? They will have plenty as well as two holes left by those two players to fill. Mic drop. Not only that but that argument would’ve been respectable. That wasn’t your argument. Your argument was that Gallagher is a third liner and the Habs would have to give up a pick and prospect just to move him. Don’t switch now that you’ve realized you’re wrong.

Dallas has 23 mil for 9 spots. Let's give Robertson the same contract as Suzuki. That drops it to 15.4 for 8. Klingberg gets at the low end $6. That's 9.4 for 7. Gurianov is arb eligible, so he's just under 3, so let's say 7 for 6. Gally's 6.5 makes it 500K for 5 players. And if they walk away from Guri, it's still only 3.5 for 5

Think that works? I know math and hockey knowledge isn't your strong suit............

You’re forgetting Ben Bishop’s 5 million on ltir and the 1 mill increase to the cap next year so do I think 6.5 million for 5 players is enough? I sure do.

Cap has not been guaranteed to increase, though it should. With all these young players signing at 7+ I'm sure owners have been told it'll be at $100 mil within 5 years. And they can't guarantee Bishop on LTIR. It's likely, but he still wants to play. If it was a Weber situation, yeah it's a guarantee, but Bishop might even be back this year.

Slight error: the cap is guaranteed to go up 1 mill. That has been stated by Friedman. And you’re right I’m not entirely sure about Bishop’s future so in that case you could be right. That’s why it is a trade idea, it hinges on a few things falling into place. Again respectable argument. I’m done with this though. Wish you could’ve made a respectable argument from the beginning.

Not really wanting to jump into this love affair, but the cap was also guaranteed to go up during the Covid year and it screwed a lot of teams because it didn't - only guarantee in life is Death and Taxes.
