You think risto is worth a 2nd and a 3rd? He is the definition of garbage

No, I don't think he's worth a 2nd and a 3rd, I think he sucks. I do think there are GM's who value him that way tho. Especially a team who's going into the playoffs looking to add "toughness" on the backend.

Perceived vs actual worth is a very real thing

Hagg, 14th overall, and a second for a second and a third, plus 2.2 mil in dead cap on the books for the Flyers. Nice

Claude is good but Unless he plays C which it seems he hasn't recently in years , why would Minnesota trades for him?

Due to injuries, he has played center quite a bit over the last two years. And, he's more than capable of still doing it. With the Praise and Suter's dead caps coming up next year, this is probably a "all in year" for Minny and Giroux will probably be the best rental at the deadline. He'd slide in at 2C for you guys.

He’d take all faceoffs, then slide over to left wing on a line with Fiala and Gaudreau/Rask.

The funny part is the Sabres reportedly had 3 other offers with first round picks available. GM’s definitely think Risto is good. He hasn’t been horrible this year either.

He’s a right handed defenseman with size and offensive upside. Which is hard to come by in the league, so I understand the interest. Part of me wonders what he could look like with some defensive coaching in a nice structured system… then I watch him play and get angry with myself for ever having those thoughts
