I would look at a Dillon and or demelo trade also, possibly a younger rhd coming back.

The Stastny trade might work, but the Jets wouldn't touch the Toronto one. Winnipeg can't afford to get stuck with Mrazek's contract.

I wonder if they could recoup the same picks lost in the Schmidt and Dillon trades, would any team now give a 3rd for Schmidt or two 2nds for Dillon?

Jets need RW, not a G. If no trade options present themselves, signing Rakell off FA could be a possibility

Copp is not worth that much, but I’m curious if EDM would be interested in a Copp for Puljujarvi swap

Moving Stastny would be for cap relief, so retaining does nothing. I think he gets re-signed to 1yr deal at 2-2.5. Valuable vet/leadership presence who’s very well liked in the locker room.

Why would Edmonton want to trade an RFA for a UFA?

Stars already have too many older players. And we aren’t looking like a playoff team lately

I wouldn’t mind going forward with Schmidt and possibly a pionk/morrissey and heinola/schmidt top 4 going forward, or possibly pionk and schmidt flipped. Buys some time for some kids, this team is in trouble without some coaching changes, development is needed badly with no ufas coming to save the day. Harkins/vesa/svech/Gus/heinola need to be ready for top 6 to 9 and top 4 duties and contributing to make any sort of push to be a upper echelon team. Somebody scooping copp, unless jets overpay pre july 1, going to be interesting

That'd be too small of a top 4 imo, think it's already a bit too small with Pionk, JoMo and Schmidt being the same size, Schmidt and Pionk play bigger then their size but would be better if each pair had one guy thats on the bigger side.
Someone will come on and tell me otherwise but every year we see the same thing in the playoffs when the physical play ramps up, need at least a few dmen who can handle that style of play and dish it out themselves, need some dmen who can push back.

Very much agree about some development needed for those young guys you listed and others and them growing into top 9/4 roles.

I think this team is in trouble and its beyond time for a coaching change and more then just Maurice, should flush the whole crew including Lowrys dad, what is this? Pee-Wee?.. lol 😆 🤣 😂

I'd be looking at dealing Copp (and a few others) if they don't get it figured out soon, wouldn't wait till the last minute of trade deadline day either.

Ya a fellow just has to look at last three or four cups, or ever since the penguins cups, pretty much 3/4 monsters that initiate contact, and that can contribute some what offensively is the similarity’s on the blueline. But it is what it is, here we are with a undersized blueline with hopes that some kids push into top 4. So not able to out physical teams, going to have to be elite pp, elite 5 vs 5 offensively and better have a damn good goaltending or atleast 24/28 game streaky. Ya I’m at the clean house coaching staff vote, my only issue is the reach back into the moose coaching tree and Alain vigneault answers the bell, possibly wrattles some vets cages, but not sure if it’s much better or leap from Maurice. Got to be better doesn’t it
