The value is kinda fine :

Kessel <--> 1st
Chychrun <--> 1st+Broberg+Holloway
Crouse <--> Kassian + cap dump (maybe needing moe value here)

Uhhhh not even slightly.
- Kessel is old and not at all as productive as he once was. with retention, you're getting a 2nd round pick max. I also just don't see him being a fit at all with the Oilers.
- I am a huge Chychrun fan, but in no way is he worth two A+ prospects and a 1st. Both prospects have elite ceilings and are going to be in the NHL within the next 1.5 years. Having those kinds of players on their ELCs is so valuable. Chychrun has a good contract, but even the biggest Arizona fans can admit he is having a bit of a down year compared to last season.

What I see making sense for the Oilers is Broberg+1st+Kassian+Ryan/Turris and maybe a mid level prospect for Chychrun and Fischer. IMO (coming from an Oilers fan so tell me if i'm way off here) a 1st+Broberg+Lavoie/Savioie+some money headed back type deal makes a lot of sense. Broberg has been developed perfectly and could very well be the next OEL-calibre player in Arizona. Oilers fans are really high on him and his brief stint up here due to injury, he looked extremely composed. But realistically, Broberg is 2-3 years from being a big impact player. Chychrun can do that right now.

- if you are down for a Kassian + small add swap for Crouse, I am all for it.

Chychrun is playing with the worst team in the league and still is one of the best Dman in the league. Yes, he has a worse year than last year, but the guy is 23 and he had other good players with him last year (Dvorak, Garland and OEL were still there). Move him to EDM and you'll see a pairing Nurse Chychrun could be compared to Weber/Suter with NSH.

Yea I agree he's still a nasty player.

When it comes down to it, I just believe a 1st+2nd+Broberg (+ some money headed back) is a really really good deal and pretty much the most a team like the Oilers could spend on one single player. If the price is multiple 1st rounders + multiple top prospects, I don't know of many if any teams at all that could pay that. I also get that the rumours are just to gauge interest and obviously he doesn't have to be moved, so maybe a ridiculous overpayment is needed to pry him out.

I like the value but as you said, they don't have to trade him, he is 23 yo and under contract so we shall see if the rumors are true or false and agree to disagree on his value for now

I dont think that offer for Chychrun comes remotely close, the one above of Broberg Holloway and 1st is a good starting point.

Chychrun instantly becomes the best defenseman on Edmonton on an incredible deal too

Crazy overpayment for Chychrun. You can't give up that many futures when you are a cap ceiling team. Pure silliness.
