Sabres accept. We'll even take Turris off your hands to help out.

the value for Montreal isn't terrible but I think maybe a little more would be necessary. Barrie has minimal value if we were to flip him, savoie is nice and the other guy isn't anything and a second.

if we flip barrie we get what a second? so a good middle six player on a solid deal and a top 4 d for two seconds and a decent prospect? maybe if you turned that second into a first

I disagree honestly. I think it’s definitely fair. Savoie, and Samorukov are both good prospects, the pick is good, and yes you would get a second for Barrie. I would not upgrade the second to a first… that’s too much In my opinion.

My only problem is
Chiarot gets a first. And toffoli could probably get a savoie or a first on his own. Samorukov doesn’t do anything

Again it’s not too far off just the second to a first which you don’t like

I understand, thanks for the comments! Yes, I don’t like giving the first in the trade, I would rather not, and don’t think we have to. I agree that it’s either close, or spot on.. it’s interesting to see other’s opinions, and I’m not saying you are wrong. I just like it that you didn’t try and rip me apart! How doesn’t Samorukov do anything for you guys? He can play both sides well.

I truly haven’t seen him play I just quickly glanced at numbers and saw he has 3 points in the ahl and had 8 in the khl so unless he’s some defensive juggernaut I’m not sure if there’s any value there. If your telling me he’s like edmunson for us where he’s good defensively hits and blocks ****s and will be a top 4 d then I don’t see any real value to move a trade in a direction or the other

I wouldn’t say he is a perfect hitter, but he is solid defensively. He’s not one to get a lot of points. He is just a good all around guy, but especially in the defensive end. He can definitely block shots, throws a few hits but not a lot. I like him, and I think he’s a good player. I personally would like to keep him, but for these guys, I would trade him.

Would you remove him and replace the second with a first? And I completely understand your side which is avoiding giving up the first and you seem to understand my side which is trying to get that first as that could be a nice piece for us moving forward. Our draft is at home and that being our second pick maybe we could swing for the fence

Again it’s possible I’m overvaluing my teams players just a bit as all fans do, but if I’m giving up a good top 4 d who you guys would love for the playoffs and could resign plus a good top 6 winger on a value contract, I’m trying to get into my comfort zone which is savoie who is solid but not great plus a first

Anyways no matter what this is a solid trade and I’m probably being a bit fussy about the return, just have savoie and that first in my head

I go on this site to critique teams, but I can’t find a lot of criticize here! The only change I would make is to start Benson instead of Shore on the forth line, as Shore has been terrible for us thus far. Also, Montreal will almost certainly want more.

Hawks accept that Fleury trade but you're gonna have to pay at the very least a 2nd to get anyone to take Kassians terrible contract

LHD depth charts in MTL : Edmundson Chiarot (likely gone) Kulak (likely gone) Romanov Guhle (former 1st RD pick) Harris (former 3rd RD pick) Norlinder (former 3rd RD pick) Struble (former 2nd RD pick) Fairbrother (former 3rd RD pick) after we got some late picks LHD but they aren’t anything special. So yep, we’re good with Left handed dman lol

What works against your team in this offer is that Montreal already have similar guys in their team and as good as Savoie is, he's in the NCAA so no guarantees that he signs. Caufield is already a diminutive scoring winger and they also have Sean Farrell who scores at about the same pace as Sav in Harvard. The Canadiens depth at LD is at all time highs at the moment so for us, as good as Dmitri is, he doesn't move the needle at all.
If we look at it from the other side of the table, if you're in Montreal's shoes you obviously want Holloway as he's got a past with Caufield and is also an excellent prospect. You'll then say I'm crazy and Dylan's untouchable, but in reality I give you a top four defender and a cost controlled 30 goals scorer (Especially if paired with Drai) so am I that crazy to think I could get a serious piece coming back instead of quantity? Bouchard's untouchable and I understand cause he'll be a stepping stone for that defense for a decade, Broberg is LD so as previously mentionned not a trade target, McLeod's upside is limited and Montreal doesn't need another goalie prospect so who's left? Holloway's extremely tempting, Lavoie's boom or bust and now that he can't use his size to overpower 5'9" kids he's got more trouble finding the net and finally Bourgault who could be appealing but I doubt Edmonton part ways with their latest first rounder.
In the end I doubt that Montreal accept if there isn't a primary piece coming back and in this it feels like you just threw 2nd pick value assets to the wall until the offer seems like it's good enough. I'd say the talks would start with Holloway, a short term cap dump/contract (Mike Smith? Duncan Keith? for buyout) and a mid round pick for Toff, Chia and a mid-late round pick.

Thank you. Myself, and another guy on here are the ones that made that trade, as you may have seen the exact same one on a habs post. If we took Samorukov off the trade, and if it all came down to either I give the first, or I don’t get the players, then I would upgrade the pick to a first, and get Samorukov off the trade. I understand if you are overvaluing your players, I do too. I agree they would be great for the oilers, and if Chiarot signed, that would make the trade even better for us. I definitely understand why you want the first… you seem to be a nice guy, thank you for not ripping my head off, and saying the trade is trash.

I know, however, Samorukov can play on the right side very well too. I understand where you are coming from though.

I 100% disagree, and that’s okay! I know some guys are not going to like the trade, but two and a half years of Toffoli, and a half of a year of Chiarot doesn’t equal Holloway, even if we are giving you Keith. I believe Savoie would be a good piece for your team, and people keep forgetting that Samorukov can play very well on the right side. I didn’t just throw seconds until the trade felt like it was right, I took some time, and offered a fair amount, and saw if it was good. No GM out there woudo give Broberg, nor Holloway for them, and Holland wouldn’t trade Bourgault. If they were signed long term, that could be a different story.

Counter offer? Myself, and some habs fans think it’s decent.. yes it could be tweaked, but it’s close if it’s not there.

I’m not a fan of Bensons game, but sure we could make that change. I don’t think we would have to add much more if we have to add more.

Thank you for the feedback. If we have to pay a second, then I guess we will. We have to get rid of his contract if we want to get better.

Chiarot is getting a first and likely a prospect so replace Samokurov and Barrie with a first and an actual prospect.

Toffoli is a proven scorer with a great contract with term. Savoie is a good start. They'd need another solid future.

We need to get rid of cap. Barrie is in there for cap purposes, to make your PP better, or to flip him for a second. Samorukov is an actual prospect.. some people forget how good he really is. That’s too much in my opinion.
