One of the things you can't do at this point is just swap Yamamoto for Connor Brown straight up.

This doesn't sole their biggest issue/need, which would be goaltending!! If they deal their 1st this year, Koskinen will be part of the deal and they'll be acquiring a longer term solution between the pipes..

Sometimes being younger doesn't suffice

Sens already have a similar older version in their lineup, named Tyler Ennis. Don't think Yamamoto will ever be as good as peak Ennis in Buffalo though

Like I said in a recent post :

Ottawa needs Connor Brown EVEN MORE than Edmonton. If they want to get out of the rebuild, they need to ADD quality veterans, not subtract them

Edmonton knows more than anybody that throwing several young talented players on the ice isn't sufficient in this league

Very true... I think it was more of an emphasis, won't be dealing the 1st round pick unless they receive a solidified no 1 goalie better than Smith...
