21-man rosters are always questionable. You'd need to be damn effective with the call-ups. When you need a d-man, send down a forward and call up a d-man. If two guys are temporarily out of the lineup, you play with a short bench. Not to mention no options for the coach - who you got, is who plays.
I'd say Shaw is likely to go as well, if Bickell can't be moved. And maybe Kruger.
Bergevin loves Pateryn and he's signed for the next 3 years for a good deal. That trade will never happen.
Let's put "Love" into context...he's a D-MAN listed as last on the team for ATOI on ESPN. Maybe "Loves" to have on the bench? I don't follow the Habs regularly so maybe I'm sticking my neck out a little, but impact on offense will help more than a guy on the bench.
