Boy, THERE are two guys we have no interest in or need for, even at the cost of a fifth and a sixth.

If I'm Columbus, I don't do that. Chicago's pick will probably be in the top 10 and Vegas' pick will likely be very late. And Lehkonen + a 3rd isn't the difference between (currently) 27th and 7th overall (without the draft lottery).

Fair point. I look at the MTL 3rd as a low second since it will be so high. (Peobably top 5 pick) of the 3rd round. Would the Jackets own pick instead and a 4th instead of a 3rd move the needle ?

It's just 2 throwaway players. It should of read " Any team looking for depth".

I’d do the Toffoli trade.

No, it wouldn't. The Jackets' pick would be 10th OA right now. You'd be moving up 17 spots. It cost Minnesota a 3rd last year to move up 2 spots. 17 (+ the fact that it's a Top 10 pick) would cost a lot more than Lehkonen and a 4th.
