The Kings need a top-pair LD, not sure Pettersson is an improvement over what the young Bjornfot and Anderson are doing right now.

I think that his thinking is that Pettersson will replace Maatta as the veteran LD. To the extent that we might not land our dreamed-for top-pair young LD, it's not a bad idea.

Can't see a single reason for the Blues to do that.

No on Sundqvist -- production is down this year but he's a good player on a terrific value contract; not getting traded for low draft picks.

$4M x 3 for a player averaging 16 min a night isn't the right deal, is my thinking. The Kings have better options with players who play harder minutes: They could re-up Edler again, go after Lindholm, go after McNabb, offer sheet Nic Hague, go after Travis Sanheim (free agent after next season), there are so many better options who play harder minutes in my opinion.

Fair enough. I would absolutely LOVE it if Alex Edler were able to wipe out the disappointment of this year by re-upping and playing the entire season next year.

He wears a “A” for us
And his leadership with all the kids we have is more important than the mediocre pick
