Description
No idea about the Edmonton trade. They need a goalie and 3c so maybe. I needed a first and second. This is a good team. And if they take team friendly deals. Maybe a back to back or three peat. I’m proud of this. Thanks for everyone’s help

Samsonov is .903 this year and was .902 last year. What makes you think he's worth a 1st?

Honestly Eller doesn't look like an upgrade on Ryan McLeod over the past couple of months and the Oilers don't have the $3.5M in cap space to fit him in either, so I don't see anything worthwhile in the Edmonton trade for the Oilers.

Young goalie that has potential. It’s not the best idea I know. You guys need a goalie. I will get rid of it if you want. The 2nd is for eller

Stuart Skinner is nearly 2 years younger than Samsonov and is .907 this year, so they already have the "young goalie with potential" spot covered.

I totally forgot about him. Your right. Do you know where to send him for this return

Remember lappy was supposed to be top 5 in the draft but he got injured

Sure, that was part of the reason, but he's also not impressed as much as he should've this year. I'd say he went were he was suppose to. He's still a nice prospect, but realistically he will likely end up a good 3rd liner/fringe 2nd liner at best.

No idea. Most teams have a decent young goalie that they like.

At 50% retained, I'd say that's a fair deal. I would accept that for Toffoli straight up (not retained). It's too late 1st's, so it's not like they are great assets.

Toffoli is so overrated...

Well, it's one of the most all in teams I've seen, gives them a great chance to go all the way this season or next, but pretty much ruins the future talent wise haha. But it's creative!

I think it could last two or three year. I did the next year and we could resign everyone. Thank you for the compliment

No he's not. If anything he's underrated which is why Montreal wouldn't do this deal.

If people think he's netting Habs two firsts, he's overrated. I don't think any team would or should pay that price for a guy who's scored 5 goals this season...

Lapierre who hasn't looked that great this year and a late 1st in a weak draft. I'd rather Toffoli, but that's me.

Other habs fans said it was a good trade for them. Someone even said it could be a 2nd round pick instead

And that would be a terrible trade. He's a top 6 forward capable of scoring 30+ goals a season in the right role on a decent term contract for cheap.

You really think lappy isn’t going to be anything. He could be a 1c

I mean a random 7th round pick from last year could be a franchise player. Probabilities are a thing and those probabilities are very low. I'd say Lappy ends up being a very good 3C, but only time will tell.

I don't feel competent to comment on most of your trades because I don't see much of the Eastern Conference (my wife complains bitterly enough about my watching Western Conference games in the evening). The one bit of insight I might be able to give is that I think Dallas would want more for Holtby. (Or maybe I should say "something different.")
