Different Deadline

Created by: villenash
Team: 2021-22 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 30, 2021
Published: Jan. 18, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think Soucy would fit Hynes' style -- only done if they think Farrance needs another year.

Larsson is a great guy to add for a playoff push -- though they may be able to get more from another team if they retain. Not sure what his price will be come deadline.

VAN gets rid of the Halak bonus and gets a goalie that can play a backup role to close out the season. NSH gets a better backup but takes on the $1.5m bonus cap hit next season.

Good budget adds. Has Myers been a disappointment or why is he benched?

For whatever reason, Hynes prefers Benning.

Benning has played well, so credit to him -- but I don't think Myers has played that bad either. Last season, Hynes was benching Fabbro a lot towards the end of the year and into the playoffs, but he's on the top pair this year. Maybe he's working with Myers in that same vain -- giving him games here and there and then hoping that he can be a full-time guy next season.

However, with Fabbro injured right now, Myers should be playing a lot more -- so we'll see if his play now will force himself into the lineup more regularly once Fabbro returns.

Soucy would be a great addition and needed one for that 3rd pair. Would be decent pair with Benning. I'd rather have Crouse over Larsson for more physicality.

Myers just seems like he can't the puck out of the zone is his big problem from what I seen, but doesn't help when you have to play with Boro,

On the ARI deal -- I think NSH needs a center more than another winger; they haven't had a consistent guy there all year (Novak being the closest). And rumor is that there's a lot of interest in him around the league, so he could be more expensive to acquire than Larsson as well.

On Myers -- Consistent usage could help with that. But I agree, I've seen him struggle to find a pass from behind the net on breakouts and they can lead to turnovers -- not nearly as bad as Harpur though... I saw quite a few mistakes on breakouts from all four of Harpur, Benning, Boro, and Myers last night.

I can see where you are coming from on that. He has been playing 1st and 2nd line center alot so it could really help in the playoffs.

Yes, usage would help. If Myers were to actually play and find a groove and a Soucy trade happened. You wouldn't have to worry about the 3rd line for once and would be pretty comfortable with the 3rd line and D depth for playoffs to. Harpur needs to be cut or sent permanently back to the AHL. Im not sure how he's on NHL roster, just looks lost 24/7
