A '15 first rounder coming off 2 strong productive years, not yet 21, Connor is a sure fire gem, he's probably my best prospect and I have lots of them, if I were move Connor for Panarin I would not be adding a young cost controlled right hand defenceman and picks on top of him

So Connor will play 3rd line minutes with the Jets, maybe 2nd line if Perreault falters... Liljegren is 3 years out from being a productive defenseman and the picks won't have impact until Liljegren finds his own... You have tons of other great prospects so its not like this deal puts that big of a dent in your vast pool of guys

He's still on his ELC for 2 years then I have another 4 years of a cost controlled forward with high end skill

And like i said, Connor is my #1 prospect so it does put a bit of a dent

I truly don't think Connor has the upside that you are saying he has... Panarin is a crazy good talent and you would have the money to resign him when the time comes

What's ur concerns about him, I need to hear your argument otherwise I won't change my price, all u have given me is that he his going to play 3rd line minutes this year and while he may he will definitely be playing more then that in the future

Max I see him playing with the Jets is 2nd line minutes... Ehlers/Wheeler/Laine all trump him on the wings. He will probably be good for 30 points in the NHL this year, And that will grow each year after the fact to which it cap's at 55. Panarin is still a very young guy. Fits your mold. Scored 75 points with Kane. Will probably still be good for 65+ with Wennberg in Columbus. Panarin is an elite player after a two years in the NHL. Connor has had 20 games experience in the Big leagues. Sure he had a great AHL season. But Connor will not beat out the Top 6 in Winnipeg. He will grow, will need a sizeable contract after his is up (just like Panarin), but the current drop in skill between Connor and Panarin at the NHL level is too big to justify "something small" as the +. Panarin will outperform Connor for easily the next 10 seasons just because Connor won't get that experience on the top lines
