Here's my perspective on these trades:
1. Hertl would be a great pickup, but I think that's an overpay for a rental. Though if he had term it would be a different story.
2. Barabanov's been great for SJ this year, I think they'd want to keep him unless an offer they can't refuse hits the table. Value would need to be higher to get him.
3. Keller would be a great move for the Caps, but giving up that much for him would be a tough sell. Coyotes would probably ask for around that much though, so I'll say it's a good trade.
4. It's small potatoes but Kempny is worth a 6th at best right now, a 4th is pushing it. Not a big deal though.
5. Not really sure what to think about this one, I can see a team paying that much for him but I'm unsure whether or not he's worth that much. It might be a better option to keep him, considering the fact that the new 3rd line center in this situation is T.J. Oshie (who's never been a full-time center in his career).
6. With how Hagelin's contract has been aging, I can't see anybody paying to get him. His price falls in the vicinity of "future considerations".
7. As a Wings fan, I feel the most qualified to talk about this one. It's a pretty good trade, but the biggest concern I have is that Schultz is a RHD. Acquiring him would tip the balance of handedness on the blue line, and while it's not the end of the world, it's not ideal for the Wings. I'd still take it though (if there aren't better offers on the table), a 2nd and a 6th is a decent return for Leddy and Schultz could conceivably find a longer-term home with Detroit.
8. I don't really see the need for this one. Vanecek and Holtby have both been playing pretty well this year and Vanecek is a better long-term option for the Caps. I can understand the reunion angle though.
Overall, good team! The trade values can be a little off at times, but they're mostly within the realm of consideration. Imagine moving Hertl to 3C and creating the ultimate center group lol
