I guess you gave the reason why Vancouver doesn't do the trade. And adding the needless Ferland in the deal....now I know you can't be serious.

Vancouver wins the trade. They get the best player for a guy who's going to want pretty big money in his own right but is far less than Marner. TO gets a pretty good player in Boeser and a bunch of nothing

im just stirring the pot but i think that its really not that bad of an idea in terms of turning him into a cheaper top line player, a middle six C and a good D prospect. Everyone in Toronto seems to think hes the root of their problems anyways.

I'm not opposed to moving Marner, but this ain't the deal.
Leafs lose this deal big time. The only way you trade Marner is if you get adequate value back. Otherwise you just keep him.

I don't think Vancouver wins, because I don't think could spend more cap space on just one player. They would probably miss the playoffs even with Marner. And I agree with you, the win now Leafs probably don't do the trade either.

I kinda agree. IMO the Leafs would trade Marner for equal playing value coming you or for futures/cap space. The trade posted is kinda in the middle which doesn't move the needle for the Leafs.

this does absolutly nothing for the leafs. Cap space is only as useful as what it's used for, and a massive downgrade at forward and literally nothing else that helps them is a terrible idea
