Who adds

Created by: Pensfan89
Team: 2021-22 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 3, 2022
Published: Feb. 3, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Want to know who would add in this trade scenario. I see it as Zucker > Ritchie
Mrazek > DeSmith
Toronto gets out of longer cap hit and gets out of the Ritchie contract. I think Zucker would do well on a line with Matthews and Marner.

That’s how I felt so I wanted to get opinions before making a full on ACGM idea lol. But it at least helps the pens backup situation.

I don't really know if there's a fit for the leafs in season. They need 2 goalies in case one gets injured. But this deal could work as an off season deal, if they can flip Zucker after. But don't want Zucker.

No thanks. Zucker has 4 more points than Ritchie and makes 3M more. It has been reported that Mrazek won't be a cap dump and that teams are interested. Leafs have no place for zucker in the top 9 - Bunting and Kerfoot have both been better, and the third line is a great defensive line that I wouldn't break up to accomodate Zucker. No chance

That makes sense. But honestly think Zucker would be amazing with Matthews. Zucker was fantastic with Crosby. Unfortunately Sully won’t put him there anymore. And puts him with Malkin who kind of plays an East/west game and improvises a lot. Or Carter who is just slower. Being with Matthews, Zucker would probably be like a PPG player which I figured it could be done at the TDL as kind of a see how it goes thing then flip Zucker in the offseason if you want.

Zucker has played less games and had been dealing with a nagging injury that he finally got fixed now that everyone else is healthy. But fair enough. I wasn’t really looking at Mrazek as a cap dump. More of Ritchie being the cap dump since they aren’t using Ritchie.

It’s possible but he’d be a luxury. The leafs aren’t looking to make a lateral move (which is quite generous to say of Zucker) in their top 6. There are way better ways to spend that 5.5 mil. Aka Jack Campbell.

Zucker has played 2 less games. Ritchie on the taxi squad only costs 1.3M instead of paying Zucker 5.5 to play on the 4th line

I’d expect IF this trade were to go down, they’d put Zucker in the top 6. And 2 less games is still less games. And again has been dealing with a nagging injury. But like I said to the others. Fair enough

but Zucker is not better than any of the forwards currently in our top 6 so why would Zucker play in the top 6?
