Don't see the oilers trading a first right now especially for next year as it could be a big mistake others are okay just optimistic getting a Bedard first round pick

What a waste of a 1st round pick. Youre tellling me youd rather use a 1st round pick on Lehkonen rather than Pavelski or Giroux?

The Edm. pick can be protected of course, We cannot keep Pavelski/Giroux longer term, not sure on their availability and would be much pricier I believe, wouldn't mind them of course either

Well G and Pav would be pure rentals. Arturri is RFA so that is a major difference

Sammy Blais is a RFA as well and should be ready to go next year at half the price. Lehkonen is a good depth player but hes not a game changer like G and Pav.

I don't see Edmonton paying a 1st for a meh goalie and a guy who is very close to bust status. A 3rd + 4th maybe?

Agreed that G and Pav are more différence makers. I think they are definitely going to require a 1st + a good prospect.

Whereas I think Arturri might be more of a 1st with a 3rd going back to NYR too. So essentially Arturri upgrades an early 3rd to a late 1st. That’s kind of what I expect to happen

Arturri + 3rd for a 1st

That’s what the barclay Goodrow deal was more or less

Its just not a good trade for the Rangers though. Rangers need help with top 6, 5v5 scoring, Lehkonen doesnt provide that for them. What the Rangers need for their 3rd line/bottom 6 is a 3C.

Rangers shouldn’t waste any picks or prospects on this deadline and keep developing the players they’ve got. This mentality won’t win them a cup, just be mediocre for the next 5-10 years and do absolutely nothing.
