I don't think Flames would retain, as that would be one of the appeals to getting Zucker it allows the flames a bit more cap flexibility, I think Monahan has the better chance to rebound to old form.

I think the Monahan has more upside but the flames need to get rid of a little bit of doe for next year, and the cap space has some value.

I am just not sure if Kapanen fits the Sutter mold, I haven't seen enough of him but from what I read his two way game and intensity is not his strong suit.

He's fast, good shooter, plays well defensively when he wants to lol

Penguins are very cap limited. I'm not sure these are good trading partners.
Penguins are also looking at moving zucker out, but that's mostly a cap reason in the move. What I mean by that is, next year his cap has to be gone to make the team work. While I'm sure they would love an upgrade, the reality is they don't want one where they carry cap forward.
