I think Schiefele is available - but with retention on that kind of term, you've got to be kidding.

Throw Schnieder and Othmann in there for WPG to consider. Two late firsts and a decent dman prospect don't move the needle at all

yeah Jets are contending for playoffs so it makes sense they will trade their captain away

No thanks. That’s a huge overpayment! I rather just keep Koskinen for the rest of the year, then see what we can do in the off-season if that’s the asking price.

Don't believe either of these deals get done.. Georgiev is barely an upgrade over Koskinen, but what people need to realize, Edmonton isn't going to give up a 1st for a slight Koskinen upgrade with team controllable years, they're going to be after a better than Smith goalie with term in order for them to give up their 1st.. Do I believe Georgiev is better than Smith, maybe, but it's not as glaringly obvious, so I don't think Holland does that deal... And as for the Jets deal, Scheifele is not available and if he was, Chevy wouldn't give him up for a 3rd L C, a mediocre prospect and a couple picks, he's be looking to replace his production- think Lafreniere+ would need to the convo or Kakko with +++ ... Jets haven't even come close to playing up to their potential, the rest of this month will likely decide their fate if they'll be buyers or sellers come March...

Very unlikely the Jets retain on Scheifele if they trade him and certainly not for that return. Leave out Chytil, start with Schneider and go from there.

Nemeth has a modified no trade. He’s definitely not waiving for the coytes. Plus he’s got some personal stuff going on, so even more reason he’s not leaving. Koskinen is NOT an upgrade from Geogiev and zero chance Oilers will trade their first round pick just so they can “sweeten” up the deal to get Geogiev.

Well Holland said not paying a first for a rental and with smith under contract next year and skinner not being able to be sent down at this point this would appear to be a rental trade.

IF the Jets decide to trade Scheif, they won't be retaining on him for 3 years without crazy compensation for doing that.

I like Scheif to the Rangers but it's likely got to be more of a Johanson for Jones sort of trade. Both those guys were young established NHLers where Scheif is older and Schneider's potential hasn't been established yet but I would think Scheif for Schneider as a base and then the Rangers add from there. If they need to clear Chytil's caphit, we could do that for them, we don't really need him though so that isn't a positive add for the Jets.

My counter proposal is Scheif for Schneider, Chytil and 2022 1st.

I think acquiring Scheif puts the Rangers into the elite cup contenders because then they matchup down the middle with the very best in the league.

You want to talk Scheif + Copp to really load up, we can do that too.

I know the response is "we need Schneider.." but with Fox, Trouba, Lundkvist you really don't. Then on the left with Miller and Robertson and Lindgren there isn't really an opportunity to play a righty on the left side. What you need is another 1C so you can match them and Zib and Strome up against the Cs on any other team in the league and feel like Crosby/Malkin has nothing on you.
