Its not that the Hawks won't take him back. It's that they're not even going to give a 7th rounder for a pending UFA. They're not making the playoffs. Just sign him in the offseason.

Kinda think they'll trade Labanc next offseason. Doesn't seem like the guy is working, but say if you can get picks for the guy that makes the money for the last year of Dadonov.

That being said I think you have a point on it being unlikely for VGK to deal with SJ - then again they have dealt in the past, as SJ was retaining part of Janmark's contract in the last trade deadline deal.

We've got too many signings this coming offseason to be buying an overpaid veteran. Vegas will have to pay for it's cap dumps.

Labanc has very little value right now. Sharks would be wise to hold onto him for one more season to see if he turns it around and increase his value.

Both team pass. Just not worth their trouble. San Jose is not competing now and they hate Vegas. The Rangers are not overpaying for a plug to help Vegas. Nobody is.
