Don't think that gets it done. The Ducks would likely want a better prospect instead of Alexeyev. But this deal shouldn't be done by the Caps. It's not really about value with Gibson, rather the fact that the Ducks will be very hesitant to give him up and would only ever accept an overpay so large, it would be bad for the other team.

Too little. You'd have to replace Schultz with McMichael or Lapierre and throw in at least another second to make them even think about it. Gibson is a seriously fantastic goalie who gets underappreciated from being on a consistently crappy ducks team. This is the first time in awhile they actually show sign of improvement, and could get past the first round for the first time in 4 years. Gibson is on a great contract and he is only 28 years old. All of this leads to them having zero reason to trade Gibson. With the trade changes I made, that is fair value. You'd then have to overpay to make them think about it.
