I don't think leafs want to take out of their prospect pool. Especially not Robertson, he just came back. picks are more likely

Mayfield is a ok defensive 4/5 guy. They arnt worth much. And clutterbuck is just bad, and expensive so he's a salary dump, especially to a team like the leafs who dont need to be spending money on not good players

I could see the Leafs doing this. Mayfield fits their needs and with the contract/term to match. You'd probably have to drop Clutterbuck though, the cap for him is hard to work with for the Leafs, but I don't expect that will be an issue with his deal expiring this season anyway.

Mayfield will bring back what savard got lost year so a 1st and a third... and clutterbuck will bring back a low 2nd/high 3rd

I see the logic - Mayfield's playing as a fine top-4 with an affordable contract, and most of the trade scenarios for him are either for a 1st or a decent player and a 2nd. Clutterbuck is a pure rental, would probably get high 3rd/low 4th value(maybe a little higher if the Isles retain, which they should have room to). If you put those two together for a team that needs them, I can see getting a prospect like Robertson and a 3rd.

Thing is, I don't think TML has the need. Mayfield doesn't fit their system well, even with his affordable contract, and Clutterbuck is just redundant on a team with Wayne Simmonds on a $900K contract. If Lou wanted to shop the tandem around, I'm sure he could find a taker, I just don't think it's going to be in Toronto.
