Ehhh I really don’t know how I feel about trading for Barrie

Ducks decline. They want nothing to do with Barrie and the return coming back isn't great either.

As an Anaheim guy, I'd have to accept that offer. I'd hate to see Josh go, but . . . I think he's gonna want to go elsewhere . . .

But yeah, I'd have to decline. A 3rd + a 5th + an underwhelming prospect aren't enough to give up Manson and take back Barrie imo.

But Barrie has term, Manson does not. Manson can walk in the summer for nothing...

My excu . . er, idea is that Barrie might be good for our power play and Niemelainen might be a good 7th defenseman next season behind Benoit. I just get the feeling that we're not going to have Manson next season.

Manson is the last of the big 3 that should be re-signed but they could still get better value elsewhere for him. Tyson Barrie isn’t any better than Shattenkirk and Shattenkirk has been rather poor this season. Take futures instead of a multi season commitment for a bad player that’s basically the same as a player you already have.

I always love to hear from other Ducks fans, especially when it's a different point of view.

My feeling is that Barrie, like Shatty, can be managed. Used in primarily offensive situations, he might be good for us. But I can certainly see the alternative evaluation.

The problem is that with Barrie, Drysdale and Shattenkirk the ducks would need to do that with all 3 RHD next season. I like Drysdale but even he has struggled this year. That would be a rather poor D core especially if they don’t have Lindholm next season (unless Chychrun replaced him).

I think I’d rather have futures than Barrie
