My orignal was a 2022 1st, 2023 2nd, and Khovanov. That's maybe a closer reality for McCann.

You are overvaluing McCann who isn't even a 1c or 2c and won't be on wild. Tomas h is worth that. Joe P is worth that, etc.... Russo also said today that Dean Evason isn't moving freddy Gaudreau off fiala and boldy line

McCann is underated and better than most think. It gives the Wild the choice to retain him next year (albeit he will get around 5M) instead of just a "pure" rental that is gone next year.

Yes he is a 2c. If he played a full 82 game season this year, he would be on pace for 70 or so points. That’s plenty for a top 6 center man. You would have to give a lot for a young player like McCann. Both Pittsburgh, and Toronto should’ve kept him and got him protected. For a few years he has been on pace for 70 or so points if he played a full 82 game season. Again, you have to overpay if you want a young player like that. In my opinion, he is growing and playing on the team like William Karlsson did on Vegas. He will turn into that 2c like Karlsson is. That’s what he brings to the team..

Joel Eriksson ek is better than him. Rossi will also be up. Besides the fact Russo said Dean Evason has no intention whatsoever of playing Gaudreau on 4c and intends to keep him on 2c with fiala and boldy. He's exactly like nico , and nico is like ek defensively.

McCann drives a pretty decent offensive game and is better than average defensively. Kraken will probably not trade him unless some team overpays. McCann would be exactly what the Wild are looking for between Boldy/Fiala. And it lets them choose who to keep in 2022/23

I mean if he wants to play Gaudreau as the 2c and not win a cup he my guest. They need a upgrade on their top 6 center position. Clearly not McCann as they need a 1c, but Rossi won’t be a center man. He is too small… he will just get pushed off the puck all the time. I’m also not saying that McCann is better than Eriksson-Ek, but he is a top 6 center man, and his play on the ice, and stats prove that.

Just because Rossi is small doesn't mean he's a c. This is a bad faith comment. His success in ahl and two games in nhl proves that

I guess we will have to see, but with his size, I don’t see it. He’s too small in my opinion, and I think we will see that shortly when he plays a full season in the NHL.

That’s because I believe I am right about this, and that doesn’t mean everyone disagrees. Anyway, I don’t care if everyone disagrees with me as it’s my opinion. I just don’t see him being good as a center man. I respect your opinion, and understand where you are coming from, but I just disagree. Time will tell who is right..

Don’t bother having discussion with that guy. He unloads on every single wild proposal or contrary opinion. I personally think Rossi will be fine at Center given his IQ, but I don’t think your claim is ridiculous. IIRC, he’s sitting at like 38% on draws and obviously isn’t the biggest guy. Def some areas to work on before he’s cut out for NHL center duties.

I will say, though, he’s a possession monster and really controls the pace of the game (at least at the AHL level). If he can tighten up a few things, I think he’s on a good trajectory. As you said, time will tell, but I think there’s a lot to be pleased with so far on him.

This doesn't get Strome anymore, teams in the league had their chance earlier in the season. His price has increased and in all likelihood he will stay. (that could change once a GM is appointed)

Sturm is nowhere near JEE defensively.

McCann >>> Freddy G.

Freddy G is just another 12/13 FWD thinking he's more than that is why the Wild will fail this year. He'll have the occasional good game (like every player), but he's the most useless FWD on the team in the o-zone.

Rossi will get the Granlund treatment. Gifted a top-6 center spot on a scoring line where his wings carry him.

I think Rossi ends up as a Zucc type of NHL winger, it fits his size and skillset better than center does.

I agree. I just don’t see him being an effective center man in the NHL. I know my argument is not much to go with, however, he is good in all the other areas, so I can’t nitpick at that! He will be a top 6 winger in my opinion, unless he proves that size doesn’t matter turns into Yoda from Star Wars and wreaks everyone! Until then, I don’t see it. Thank you for giving me a little more insight on Rossi! I of course know who he is, and know how good he is, but it’s nice to have discussions about certain players like him.
