Miller for McMichael, Iorio, 2022 first round pick is what I think the Canucks should target if they trade Miller to Washnginton

I disagree, I don't think Miller really solves their issues. He just adds more of the same.
As for trading McMichael, I'm not sure I would do that if I was WSH. He's a solid younger player with a future on a low salary. He probably has more value than a mid 1st at this point.

I think they should target Garland.
They need guys who can threaten with pace on the wing. Can put a team back on it's heels a bit. They don't have that right now and Miller doesn't bring that.
Miller just brings another physical bruising player. They have 2 of those in Mantha and Wilson already. They don't really need a 3rd. What they need is younger legs that can speed which makes teams play back or be more cautious knowing they can't close the gap if they make a mistake.

His game is 7.5M + contract next year as that's his QO.
Which I don't think the caps can afford in looking at their cap next year.
That's leaves them like 2.5 mil for everyone else that needs to be resigned. That isn't happening. So you'd have to move cap out. It wouldn't be a small amount either.

Miller is twice the player Garland is, though Garland is decent he isn't actually fast as you say, he's more shifty with tight turns.

by twice the player you mean he plays more physical. Like I said, the caps already have that. He's not bringing anything to the team that they don't already have.
As for being shifty, that's like 75% of the speed in the NHL, What I call the win the first 5 steps.
Most foot races in the NHL are not over 20 feet. If you win the first 5 steps, you win the foot race.
That's why guys like Stutzle look so fast. They win the first 5 feet. And guys like Byfield look so damn slow, he can't get moving.
WSH needs more speed. They need to win those 20 foot battles chipping the puck up ice etc. Miller isn't adding that anymore than what they have.
If they want someone to go hit someone, they'll just send WIlson and Mantha out there to do that. But they don't have guys who can pressure up ice.

When I say twice the player I really mean it. He's a better goal scorer, passer, possession player, pp player, more physical, better pker, better on draws. Garland isn't putting dmen on their heals so much as being elusive. If that is what you mean when you say fast that he is elusive yes. But I was just saying he's not fast in a straight line or even super quick. His whole game is tight turns, close control, he uses prob the shortest stick in the league, and he is an agitator. He's a decent 2nd line player, Miller is an excellent first line player.

Garland is faster than you give him credit for. Again, you aren't bringing in anything here with Miller that they don't already have. The team needs more speed. That isn't miller.
They aren't looing for a C to take draws, they have 3 of them. This is not a team lacking physical play.
This teams offense has cratered since Vrana left, and I'm not saying Garland is as fast as Vrana, but my god, they need to find foot speed on the wing.

Boeser is a good 2way winger that is strong along the boards and still has 30+ goal upside. He is a complimentary winger though that doesn't bring a ton of speed or drive offense on his own.

Ok. I take your point. Mine still stands. Garland is not a burner. He's probably not even faster than Miller, who has predominantly been a winger for the Canucks up until the last month. He is twice the player. You can't have enough JT Miller's on a team. Garland will do a lot of tight turns though if your team specifically needs that.
