The Flyers a hundred times over, then they check Holland into a nursing home because they're concerned he lost his mind.

I’d say Edmonton chuckles then realizes it’s a serious offer and respectfully declines while still chuckling.

Carter Hart for 2022 first, Jesse Puljujarvi, Dmitri Samorukov and Stuart Skinner — Uk M.

Exec No. 1: Edmonton says no. That’s a lot — way too much for Hart.

Exec No. 2: Edmonton says no.

Pronman: Hart has bounced back this season so I thought this was an interesting gauge of his trade value. NHL personnel still like the player but probably not to the level of his value two years ago.

Neat, why would Philly trade a long term cost controlled asset at a position that notoriously takes longer to develop for a goalie that isn't close to equal, a RW streaky scorer that has had troubles scoring on McDavid's wing at times this year, a pick that will be in the bottom 20 - 32 of the draft and a D man that can't seem to crack a really bad D core..? Value can be what it is but those pieces from Edmonton don't help Philly in any way at all, creates a hole at a position that is hard to draft and develop and brings in very middling pieces.

Edmonton says no. It's not close.

Skinner is just as good right now and is cheaper. Why would Edmonton add a bunch of high-value assets? Because draft pedigree? People need to start judging players on results rather than name recognition.

You incredibly under value the Oilers assets here. JPs value isn't based off his offensive production alone, even though it's still good so not sure why it's being used against him, he has been one of the Oilers top two-way forwards. Samurakov is a rookie, who is just starting his pro career whom is low of the totem poll in terms of experience and draft stock. And the Oilers D isn't as bad as you make it out to be anyways. Stu is a very good prospect and good very easily have career numbers the parallels Hart's. Seeing that your a Calgary fan your bias shows immensely. I hope to now understand why the Oilers are the team that passes here and if not then you should try actually watching the Oilers.

Because its the sum of all those parts.

Samu isnt cracking the lineup mostly due to old hockey men that where blocking him. I cant see that being an issue going forward with Woodcroft and Manson at the Helm. Has played very well in the AHL.

Skinner is currently trending really well and of course he isnt looking elite early i see him being an import part of this franchise for a while.

A first regardless of when the pick is still holds a ton of value in the league.

And finally Puljujarvi is soooooo much more than a streaky scorer and had proved to be one of our best two way forwards this year. If you have some time to check out his advanced analytics it paints a picture to how important he is to this team and he is on pace for 50 Points.

I mean Zack Kassian had 34 points in 59 games on McDavid's wing, I'm sure you thought his value was sky high too.
The heart of the question is why does Philadelphia create a hole that is extremely hard to fill with players that don't push them to be any better really. Puljujarvi is competeing for playing time with Atkinson, Farabee, Konecny and if Philly is bad why would they put Puljujarvi in the line up to clog up a spot for a guy like Allison, Foerster, Brink to develop?

Sure, and if Philly was looking to compete in the next couple season Puljujarvi could make sense, but then why would they give up Hart? If they're looking to tank, rebuild, retool, then no real need to bring in a guy who takes up a spot on the right side with the depth they have there in the system. The deal makes no real sense for Philadelphia, value be damned.

Skinner: .913 sv%
Hart: .910

Skinner: +0.074 GSAx/60
Hart: +0.048

They aren't creating a hole. They're getting a similar aged goalie who is performing better but who has less name recognition and draft pedigree. Edmonton loses this trade and it's not close.
