Neither team should do it

Giving away Bryson is stupid. He has value whether you like him or not. Inevitably one or 2 LD will be moved, but for something useful at least.

He has almost no value and would sit in the press box

Alot of Gms say that before they do.

Also they have a lot of decisions to make and if they get real value for him at his age, injury history and term/cap hit they should seriously consider it.

I contend this is quite a bit more than they paid for him

Philly is a lot better of a team on paper than they are showing this year. Ellis being out has severely effected them. I think you underestimate Ellis quite a bit.

Also no, you offer really isn't more than what they paid at all

Bryson a should be kept if all we get is a 3rd
He might not have value higher than that, BUT we will have injuries & he can be a useful player for us

I like the Ryan Ellis idea too
Posted it myself a few weeks ago
Now that i looked at him closer- the injuries the last few years make me nervous
So i wouldn’t pay a lot for him
But i don’t think Philly would want “a lot” either
They aren’t gonna rebuild like we are,
they’re gonna try & “retool” so they can get back to the playoffs asap
So the Cap Space will be of huge value to them
Not too many teams will have the Cap Space to gamble on Ellis like we could

And i know it’s a bad contract & his age doesn’t really fit our timeline….
But his true value to us would be in being a mentor for Power & Dahlin- and especially to Power
That way he hopefully could avoid the struggles that Dahlin had to cope with his first few seasons

Okposo’s Cap hit is coming off the books after next season anyways
That makes me more willing to take a risk on Ellis

When i posted (BEFORE i looked into Ellis’ injuries lately)

I offered Johnson & picks
And the Mitts & a pick in another one

I wouldn’t do that much now
Not sure what it would take….
But I’d start with ONE 2nd
Wouldn’t give up a 1st
Wouldn’t give up an additional 2nd
And i wouldn’t give up Johnson or Mitts at this point either

IF Philly was gonna retain 50%
THEN I’d consider upping the offer
But that’s the ONLY way I’d do so
