Description
Not saying I would do these deals, but I was more looking at good fits and ways to start freeing up some cap space. Thought the asking prices are pretty fair.

Rangers would do it, but unlikely Vancouver would.

Just out of curiosity, why do you feel Motte is worth a 3rd?

Good depth, lots of speed, PK guy who could slide onto your 3rd line if needed, due to injuries. Plus I know the Pens have some injuries. But you may be right, probably more of a 4th or 4th with some conditions

I think this trade is ultimately closer to what it will really look like. I think Miller's realistic value is a 1st, 2nd and a prospect, but in this case Lundqvist would suffice for a 2nd, so I really don't think this will be far off.

The only x-factor is the Rangers would have to move out salary, so in a bubble this trade works, but there are more ramifications for the Rangers.

I think it’s a good package on Vancouvers side of things. If anything maybe a roster player, but like I said these are trades that I see just as fits, not deals I’d actually do

Yeah, I think that's more fair. I like his game. Like you said he's got speed, can PK and also plays a good physical game. A 4th with conditions would be suitable.

They actually have enough place to absorb him this year and next. My concern on a Rangers end of things is that in two years it’ll be hard to get him to an extension because that’s when things get really tight on the cap. Lafreniere, K’Andre Miller, Jones come off their ELC and Chytil too.

So, not to get too hard into this because you seem reasonable, but they don't have the space next year. I unfortunately got into it with a Habs fan yesterday about this with them tryin to send Anderson there. The rangers have just under $10M in space next year with Strome, Kakko, Blais and needing a back-up, so that will eat every bit of space up.

I think this guys is being a bit more conservative, but I think deals are likely these are closer to what happens in reality than the giant trades we've seen on here.

Well Miller would pretty much replace Strome and if they did resign Strome it would cost more than Miller is making right now. Kakkos coming off his ELC and he’ll get a bridge deal which I don’t think will cost too much (2yr 3-3.5mill). Blais has been hurt all year and I don’t think he can command more than what he’s making right now. But yes they’ll be tight against it.

Me neither, but I think it’d be a great fit for the Bruins. Problem with the Bruins is that they don’t have a lot of good assets. Think all those deep playoff runs are starting to catch up on them

Oh for sure but in this case if the plan is to gain cap space then that deal with Boston doesn't really do that. Well unless Vancouver didn't QO DeBrusk. If that was the case though DeBrusk would have no value in this deal for Vancouver.
