Deadline All In- Big swap from down the road

Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 5, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not sure of value in the Ottawa trade, but Leafs get Brown and Zub for this year and next, and will let Paul walk after the year (perhaps back to Ottawa). Brown ups scoring for third line while keeping PK prowess of Soupy. Zub is an upgrade to Holl I believe for a similair price. Ottawa gets three picks, Holl for now, Robertson for the future but take on Ritchie for this year and next. Adding the picks plus Robertson will fit more with the timeline of the players Ottawa has.
Zub = Holl + 2nd
Brown= Robertson + 3rd
Paul + Brown retention= Ritchie 1st (the first helps even it out overall perhaps)

Nashville is playing well and has space to add and Mikyehev is a useful piece. Perhaps a third instead of a second, but a mid round pick is justified. The move helps clear space and position for Brown. I do not think we resign Soupy at the end.

Arizona get Dermott for next year as a cheap option in the 4-5 range plus a pick for Lybushkin. May need to add in a prospect to even it out depending on offers.

Thoughts on the value? What would you switch out?

No way Ottawa considers that. Sliding Holl and Ritchie in there I’m sure they would ask for much more.

Why would ottawa not want Holl? Personally I wouldn't give him up in a trade. Ritchie I get.

What more would you add / how would you value each player? I don't think Ottawa would propose it but that is a lot of futures that would help them.

A very easy NO from Ottawa. They're coming to the end of a rebuild, not starting one.
Holl is okay, Ritchie is a cap dump, Robertson will never be a regular in the NHL, and it would be 4 to 5 years before those picks amounted to anything (if ever).
