Former Tre guy, right handed, just needs to be Schenn 2.0.
Have to admit, also like him just for series against Florida

Seattle Deadline
The lack of draft picks is terrifying, but I do think the line up looks good.
Having Larsson for another year helps but I think Sea would want more for Larsson.

Tanev is next
The price on Tanev is a 2nd. Leafs will be asked for a first as they do not have a second. I think adding Niemla and Holmberg makes this too one sided for Calgary.
In the end, if Tanev moves to TO it will be as part of a package deal that involves the first from Toronto though more likely he goes somewhere else. I say Dallas.

NAK had his chance with Toronto and did not go well. Could swap McMann for another cost controlled player like Abruzzese

Brodie is not a first pair D, which he is asking to be in Toronto. On a second pair, with someone else responsible like Lindell, he would be a solid #4.
I moved him in this to make room for the other adds and to try and recoup some value from him.

I'm guessing the other teams decline as well.</div></div>
Domi went for a second last year, so him retained would add the fifth.
Bertuzzi went for a 1st and 4th, so him retained would be equal to 2 2nds and a 3rd. Has had a quiet year but I can see teams kicking tires on him for the playoffs.
Brodie I am not sure of his value, but for Edmonton he would be an upgrade on Kulak and clears space for the Oilers next year. Given the bonus owed to Brown, this may be necessary for them.
What would Ferrarro and Duclair net? Duclair has not scored much, and without retention, I dont image would be overly expensive. Maybe a bit more for Ferrarro?

Robertson has been in the doghouse but his points per 60 is quite high and if given time to develop, like in Chicago, he could be a solid middle six scorer on a controlled deal.

I disagree. Getting the third pick back softens it for us. A late first for a mid pair D with a hit of size and term seems about right.

I think if you look at Chiarot or Savard or Gavirokov, a big bodied defense is going to cost a 1st. The hope is we can resign him.
With Zadorov, Dillion, Reaves, Bertuzzi, Domi, and to an extent McCabe, the leafs add some 'snot' (which is a great term) to the team. I think the key difference to the team last year was that Acciari, Orielly, and Schenn were added after the deadline. Having the players for the whole season should help build it through the team. This way, there are usually going to be two snots on the ice at all times.
Whether that is a good idea or not, who knows. But it seems what Treliving wants. I imagine a team that is built more for three line offensive waves and big defenders to stop any cycle chances against.

I agree that Brodie is better, but this is a way to save cap space and Dillion has more 'snot', for what it is worth. I think Treliving wants to beef up and Brodie is the odd man out in this way.
The cap savings also help us with the Zadorov deal.
Robertson does not have a clear roster spot with us and I can see him being used to help move salary, which has a cost.

My thought was that with Dobson, NYI have a younger option. I think Nylander as a 40 goal scorer would help add some bite to the isles offense. With Mayfield, Romanov, Pelech, Dobson, and Brodie from the trade, they still have a solid D. Then Sorokin as well.
Agreed that pullock is valuable and has a NTC, but this is mainly about guaging fairness

I'd probably still say no if I was Toronto but, I think it's close.
I'd maybe ask for Oleksiak, Bjorkstrand (signed for 2 more years and younger than Eberle), and 2 1st's, even that is iffy since Nylander is so good but, you're definitely close IMO</div></div>
I think if we went fot Bjorkstrand we would have to switch the picks to lower rounds.
I guess it would depend on ehat Treliving wants but the cap space and then pick to add at the deadline swayed me.
I would rather sign Nylander than tradr him, but if we trade him then this is a return I could live with

I think the leafs lose any marner trade, so I would rather get futures and cap space to allow us to retool. In the end, it is not the best trade but I like how the team salary structure is more balanced now. I feel our bottom six has legit nhl players rather than more fringe guys.
