This is hardly going all in. If anything you made the team worse by trading Strome.

Strome has more value than Arvidsson imho, so that trade doesnt help.
I dont see the Canucks retaining any salary if they trade Miller, because if they do trade him- then theyre going to need every penny to retain Boeser. ( the offer for Miller has to be huge- or they wait till the off season when teams have more cap flexibility ).

We give up our best trade chips and still lose in the 1st round.

Arvidsson is a complete winger that drives play and despite not playing with Panarin is putting up a similar point total to Strome. He is also signed at a manageable contract the following two seasons.

Miller is a better center and player than Strome. The retained salary is wishful thinking no doubt. But he is signed for one more year at least.

Jarnkrok provides further depth. This team is better than the current rendition. There are 3 solid lines and a 4th that has options. Hunt and Gauthier are out of the lineup.

Strome has improved in his tenure as a ranger, but I am not convinced that giving him a long term deal is the way to go.

Why would LA trade one of their most successful wingers this season for a rental?

He’s not a rental they would have plenty of cap to play with to provide an extension. Between getting arvidsson off the books. Brown’s contract is up after this year.

But why would they want Arvidsson off the books? He's been one of their best players this season. That's like saying the Rangers want Adam Fox off the books because they don't want to pay his extension next season.

Arvidsson and Strome are comparable in compensation. Kings have an outside chance of making playoffs. Perhaps a pick being added makes it easier to happen. Kings are a young team , but they aren’t there yet. I just think arvidsson makes sense for the Rangers and Strome would be a justified cost.

Kings need wingers and rangers need centers. This litterally makes zero sense no matter how you try to spin it. Kings aren’t cap strapped either

Literally Strome plays center and wing. Aquiring JT Miller does not hurt the Rangers center depth in this hypothetical.

Any C can play W just saying.

Too much chemistry right now for arvidsson and his line. Kings decline
