Draft Lotto 1- Wright or Bedard Draft

Created by: Ghost789
Team: 2022-23 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 21, 2022
Published: Feb. 21, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sharks might be bottom 5 this year when the seasons over.. and If Karlsson can’t stay healthy next season Sharks should consider buying out or just sticking him on LTIR for the remainder of his contact. 11.5M is really holding the team back from making moves and signing 2-3 other solid players down the road.

A lot of luck has to go into getting wright. Don’t need Cole or Cogliano, use the money to pay Ferraro and Barabanov properly. Don’t mind the team overall though

I think Ferraro will sign a 2.5-3M 2yr bridge deal.
Also Sharks really need a solid stay at home D man on the left side to eat up 15+ min a night. Cole is that guy. I like Strome or any reliable 3rd line Center. Sharks haven’t had a reliable one since Tierney.

Middleton has done that this year and he would be like a 1/3 of the cost

Awesome roster, I like it a lot. Especially the idea of signing a capable 3C like Strome who's offensively-minded and a RH-shot. It's a perfect match for the need. My only hesitation would be that I'd prefer Strome on a 2yr deal for Bordeleau to come in but that's never going to happen. As long as DW/Will doesn't include a ntc, I'm fine with a long-term deal for him.

Yea, Sharks desperately need a Right shot center. Strome is also one of the rare under 30 yr old UFA’s this upcoming off season. I think he would be a great 3rd line Center or 2nd line when injuries happen. Even if the Sharks can’t secure a high end prospect like Wright they can fill in with capable prospects from the AHL. No reason why the Sharks can’t turn this around just takes 1-2 more pieces and a commitment to team defense system, not allowing 4+ goals a game.
