Description

What do Bruins fans think about maybe acquiring Monahan from the Flames?
What would the return look like?
Would he even be a fit on this team?

I saw a Flames post where we received Monahan in return for Senyshyn, Studnicka, and a '23 2nd round pick.

Personally, I would think it would take more than that to get Monahan, I would probably swap DeBrusk in for Senyshyn since JDB has more value especially if he will get looks and plays well on 1RW with 63 + 37. Even with JDB instead, I don't see this to be enough for Monahan, even though they will be looking to offload either his contract or Lucic's.

With $27 million in cap space in the offseason for Calgary, they have priorities in Tkachuk and Gaudreau and if they resign, they will eat up around $20 million between them so they need to shed cap to help finish out the team.

As long as the bruins could find another place to ditch some cap…this is great.

He will certainly be available this offseason. Not sure what CGY would ask for. The greatest value would likely be the cap relief

Unless this happens in the offseason I would assume one of JDB or Haula would be getting shipped out. Maybe they can find someone to take on Moore's contract to open up a little more space

I agree that it's more likely in the offseason. He will be a tremendous help for a playoff push but he has just been dealt such crappy linemates. He should start to resurge a little with Toffoli on his wing, but Lucic is more of a 9th floor kind of guy at this point.

If it's in the offseason I would be fine with this. Monahan's game has looked pretty good recently. Turns out that not playing with plugs like Ritchie and Pitlick actually helps

If its in the off-season the bruins will likely be looking at free agents, with something like this as a fallback.
