The sabres would need to hold on to one of Power of Dahlin but I would let EDM have their pick between the two.
I would also let EDM pick one of our goalie prospects. Luukonen could play games now while Levi/Portillo would need more time in the minors.

You would have to let go of both and more, but they dont need the 2nd

A McDavid trade doesn't happen for a few years yet frankly. Edm has no reason to trade him no matter what you offer even if hes a leadership/lockerroom problem or something. He's worth every penny he gets and no matter what they get back trading him wont make them better.
You'll need to wait a few more years until they've run out of prospects, sign some crippling bad contracts with longer term and they have no choice but to trade mcdavid to spark a rebuild. Not saying thats what will happen but retaining Tom Holland does give you something to hope for.

Right. Might as well throw in a unicorn and a pair of leprechauns too. If the op was what it took, the Sabres would do it. The significant adds push it right into fantasy land. The Sabres are missing right d and a franchise center, one of those can be handled with our pick this year, probably the other one next year. Lobbing a grenade into the roster just to get mcdavid is crazy. No sane gm does that.

Youre looking at what could potentially be a better player than Crosby, hes worth everything he would get and thensome
