I'd rather keep Zacha over Kapanen and I just don't see a point in trading Tatar for Zucker. If they trade Tatar, it'll be for a younger piece.

There's also like a 2mil difference in cap.

Technically Zucker is a younger piece lol. But fair enough

Pens add because they're getting the better player between Zucker & Tatar, plus the younger player between Kap & Zacha, and shedding about $2M in cap, plus Zacha probably holds a little more value than Kapanen as a center.

Tatar really hasn’t been better than Zucker. Like I said they have been similar in production lol. And the pens are a much better team with Zucker on the ice than off. And Kapanen is the better offensively talented forward between Zacha and Kapanen but Zacha can play both center and wing. So I looked at it kind of balancing out. I also don’t think NJ is really in a cap crunch that they are worried about 1.2 million - 2 million possible in added cap hit.

But this is where it states the devils could make a hockey trade and possibly look to trade Zacha to upgrade in offensive talent but stay young. They pretty much do that here.

I think if you just did Kap for Zacha it's a trade the Devils make.

Their cap space isn't dire, true, but many other teams are, and I think that it's better to use that to score assets from teams that need to dump salary than to make a lateral move like Tatar for Zucker. That's why I think Pens would need to add a little if you wanted to make it the 2-for-2 you have up here.

That’s fair. I’d be ok with Zacha for Kap 1 for 1 too.

Maybe Kap for Zacha...but don't think I'd add Zucker.

Besides if he is on LTIR, he is of more value to PIT anyway since we cannot use LTIR.
